withthekeyiskingHello, I'm Q! This is my Creator Letter for the 2023 First Time Exchange. First, thank you for your interest! Whether you're my assigned giftor or thinking of making a treat, I appreciate you so very much :)
This letter has my general DNWs and Likes, and then I have individual sections for each of my fandom requests for this year's exchange (and I don't have a preference between any of them, so don't think if one's section is longer than the other that I want it more!). I hope my provided details will give you some inspiration! I really look forward to whatever y'all create, I know I'm gonna love it <3

Do yourself a favor if you haven't already seen this show, and go watch it. It's on Amazon Prime, Apple TV, and Vudu, along with a couple other places to buy it, and is only 6 episodes. It is the best 6 hours you can spend, because when I tell you this show is genius, I mean it. The acting is off the charts, the characters are compelling, and the story is interesting as fuck. Who doesn't want to watch Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie go head to head? No one, and if you haven't seen it, you're missing out. I have rewatched it like 5 times.
The thing that really makes the series is the dynamic between Jonathan and Roper, which is sheer perfection. I was already predisposed to like it since I like both actors, but still my breath was taken away by it. By the levels and the secrecy and betrayal and genuine affection and respect buried amongst it all. Jonathan is with Roper to avenge someone he loved, but still he found himself for falling for Roper's charms, at least a little bit. He might've hated himself for it, but it went both ways!! Roper saying "It's a rare thing, Jonathan Pine, for me to trust a person. But you were special. Knew it the first time I saw you" ripped my heart out because of how much he means it. Roper doesn't trust people, but Jonathan slid right in like he was a missing puzzle piece finally returning. Roper wanted to give everything to Jonathan, wanted him to be a goddamn emperor of Rome with him, even gave Jonathan a chance to join him for real when he knew Jonathan was betraying him!!
And nothing, nothing, will ever compare to the moment when Jonathan blew all of Roper's shit up, thoroughly destroying him empire and costing him billions of dollars, and Roper looked at him and smiled and said "Oh, you beauty." I'm sorry but, like, how can anyone stay sane after seeing that??? Jonathan destroyed everything and Roper just thought he was spectacular!!!! Even winks at him later when they're taking him away!!

THE MAGICIANS
Honestly the characters in this show are to die for. Quentin just sparks so much joy for me, and fascinates me to no end. Like, he's the protagonist of the show, but he isn't the "chosen one", you know? Penny's the rare Traveler, Alice is the ultra powerful one, Julia is the goddess, Eliot is the High King...all of them have something super spectacular going for them, and then there's Quentin, with so much heart and passion and intelligence and just a deep love of (and belief in, as Margo says) magic. He is damaged and so not ok, a broken boy trying his best, always seeking more, wanting more and doing everything in his power to go after it. I love his fire and his dedication and his oh-so-relatable desire to be important in a world where it's so easy to be ordinary. I love his deep bonds with the people around him, how those never faded, and I appreciated so much how often he was mentioned in season 5 despite not being there. And I miss the little volunteer tomato so much 😭
Anyway, I tagged two relationships with virgin Quentin because honestly if they'd said Q was a virgin on that show I would've believed it—baby boy was so awkward and ND-coded and desperate for love, he would've fallen Hard under the force of Eliot or Eliot & Margo. Whether your go the angst, trauma route or the good times and butterflies route, I will be happy either way! I think I gave a good range of tags. I just want experienced Eliot (& Margo) getting to fuck virgin Quentin.

MARVEL 616
Ben Reilly, my dear darling blorbo. I hold him gently in my hands, I protect him from harm, I wreck him and tear him apart (you know, like you do with your favs 😌). Ben is just such a cool and damaged as hell person. He is filled with identity issues and insecurity and an almost desperate need to belong, to be a hero, to be in a position to save people. He has genius-level intelligence (being a clone of Peter Parker kind of ensures that) but his emotional state is often so unstable that that genius gets used for so many others' purposes. I love his back and forth relationships with Peter and Kaine, his fucked up bond with Miles Warren, and god honestly all the relationships he has with folks are so fun.
Ben is someone who has died more than anyone in the Marvel universe (literally—Death herself told him!) and none of those deaths were pleasant. Hell, 28 of them were him being literally tortured to death by his creator! Something I really love is that when Ben has his run as a villain in The Clone Conspiracy, his reasoning behind what he's doing is his intense terror about death; he did a lot of fucked up shit in TCC, but his reasoning was the desire to be able to stop death, to never let anyone else go through what he went through, and I just think that's Neat.
Everyone who's ever been in a position of power over Ben has abused it. Ben is someone who has clawed his way back to being a hero again and again and again every time the world fucks him over, every time he puts his trust in the wrong person and finds himself getting burned once more. Honestly it's almost like Marvel has a personal grudge against him for the sheer number of times they build him up only to knock him back down 😂 I'm laughing to hide the fact that I'm sobbing inside.
I'm sorry for the lack of pairing-specific shit here but it's because literally anything with this boy will bring me joy if you decide to write him. Literally anything <3

RAVEN CYCLE
Raven Cycle is such a beautiful series, and Dream Thieves (the book in which we meet Kavinsky) is my favorite of the bunch—both for the plot, and for the introduction of such an epic character. This boy was so fucked up, but every scene he was in had me grinning. The scene where we meet him with him casually offering up those perfect (dreamed) bracelet set the tone so well for the arc to come! From that to racing Roman down a deserted street to that entire 4th of July spectacle, the boy really had me in a vice grip, and his dynamic with Roman was so fucking cool.
I loved how, despite being so sharp and caustic, Kavinsky really was desperate to have Roman at his side. He wanted Roman to understand and could not believe that Roman didn't. There's this quote I really love from Doctor Who and I feel like it fits Kavinsky too: “You burned like a sun. Like a whole screaming world on fire.” Kavinsky burned bright and hot and like a fucking screaming world, and he just wanted Roman to see it all too. Frankly, he also just really wanted Roman, and TDT really got away with a Lot of sexual things for a YA book, hot damn.
What I wouldn't have given for it to go a little further between Kavinsky and Ronan, whether that was with Ronan in his right mind or not! Maybe Ronan is high or drunk, or maybe he's perfectly sober but can't believe he's doing this. Maybe Kavinsky is smug because he got Ronan to agree to be with him, or maybe he's taking advantage of some fucked up situation. Maybe they're making a deal. Whatever scenario strikes your fancy I am on board, I just am in some desperate need of more Joseph Kavinsky, in all his fucked up wildness!

GRISHA TRILOGY
In the series, my main man is definitely Nikolai. I am So Here for the charming swashbuckler hiding a sharp, serious mind, the general who locks his emotions away to do his job but still cares so deeply for everyone around him. He takes so much on his shoulders readily, facing each and every challenge that comes his way with a brazen grin and ready plan and a refusal to let anyone see him sweat. Which isn't to say he doesn't sweat; for all his confidence, the boy for sure has a well of issues, and never has the time or the space to really explore them. I love his dedication to his people, his practical standpoint on matters of state (even if it goes against what he may personally want). I love how he describes himself as "a solider for whom the war would never be over" and "a bastard left alone in the woods." His position has him so isolated, and there's nothing he can do about it, no matter how badly he wishes he could.
The Darkling | Aleksander Morozova/Nikolai Lantsov
God I really wish we'd gotten to see more of Nikolai with the Darkling. There is just so much untapped potential here, and so much fucked up shit that it can't be anything but exciting. And then you throw in the virginity angle?? What a fun dynamic!! Maybe this is pre-canon, and the Darkling is trying to manipulate the prince onto his side. Maybe it's an AU where the pair of them are engaged to be married to bind the 1st and 2nd armies or something like that. Maybe it's during canon, and the Darkling takes out his frustrations on the troublesome enemy he holds captive, or Nikolai trades himself in exchange for safety for his friends, or the Darkling's demonic influence over Nikolai in book 3 has a certain side effect...No matter what I am game for whatever fucky shit you come up with!
Nikolai Lantsov/Alina Starkov
By virtue of Alina being the narrator we got to see a lot of this relationship, but there was such a well of potential there that sadly never came to fruition (she totally should've accepted his proposal, I mean can you imagine what a badass partnership that would've been??). I love the way Alina doesn't take any of Nikolai's shit, and how Nikolai helps her see the bigger picture. He also gives her a place to just be herself, which I think is incredibly important since there are so many people expecting so much of Alina; she very rarely has a chance to just relax, to just be Alina instead of the Sun Summoner. And in turn, I think Alina could get Nikolai to let down his walls in a way he can't with other people. Alina would be shocked to learn someone like Nikolai was a virgin, but she'd be honored to learn it, honored to be put in the position to be his first. And god can you imagine how aodrable they'd be losing it together? Two extremely strong, capable people learning how to be vulnerable together.

SUPERNATURAL
Supernatural is probably my longest lasting fav fandom—I'm just so in love with these boys and the entire universe, like I don't care if it seems 'cringy' it makes me emotional. This is a show about family and trying your hardest and always fighting, always striving for the right thing even if it's next to impossible. I love the heart, they way Sam & Dean practically bleed a need to save people, no matter how many times it fucks them over. No matter how much pain it brings them (and, often, the people in their lives as well). Because there just was never another option for them, even if they both gave noping out their best shot at times lol. Idk guys, I will just Always be a Supernatural fan, no matter how much time passes.
Of the two, my fav is definitely Sam. I could scream over this poor boy's journey, and I am Feral over his plotlines. Like, I will genuinely never stop being obsessed with the demon blood and Boy King and Lucifer Vessel stuff just NEVER. Sam is such an awesome character; I love how kind he is, how he has the ability to connect with everyone he meets, but also how ruthless he is. I mean, cutting off Gordon's head with barbed wire??? So cool! Sam is brilliant and funny, and filled with so much trauma that it almost boggles the mind. I love his self-worth issues, and his trust issues, and his daddy issues, and basically ever damn issue he has. I love his utterly fucked up childhood and his guilt over things that have nothing to do with him. And I love, as I mentioned before, his fucky plotlines!!
I feel like my freeforms and relationships are pretty solid as prompts, but lmk if you have any questions! My Sam/Dean request is definitely a more positive one than my Sam/Villains request 😆 Though I'm still me and so neither request is without a touch of angst XD Be free, live your best life! Put virgin!Sam through the ringer or give him the good first time he deserves after so much pain.

He also gives her a place to just be herself, which I think is incredibly important since there are so many people expecting so much of Alina; she very rarely has a chance to just relax, to just be Alina instead of the Sun Summoner. And in turn, I think Alina could get Nikolai to let down his walls in a way he can't with other people. Alina would be shocked to learn someone like Nikolai was a virgin, but she'd be honored to learn it, honored to be put in the position to be his first. And god can you imagine how aodrable they'd be losing it together? Two extremely strong, capable people learning how to be vulnerable together.

SUPERNATURAL
Supernatural is probably my longest lasting fav fandom—I'm just so in love with these boys and the entire universe, like I don't care if it seems 'cringy' it makes me emotional. This is a show about family and trying your hardest and always fighting, always striving for the right thing even if it's next to impossible. I love the heart, they way Sam & Dean practically bleed a need to save people, no matter how many times it fucks them over. No matter how much pain it brings them (and, often, the people in their lives as well). Because there just was never another option for them, even if they both gave noping out their best shot at times lol. Idk guys, I will just Always be a Supernatural fan, no matter how much time passes.
Of the two, my fav is definitely Sam. I could scream over this poor boy's journey, and I am Feral over his plotlines. Like, I will genuinely never stop being obsessed with the demon blood and Boy King and Lucifer Vessel stuff just NEVER. Sam is such an awesome character; I love how kind he is, how he has the ability to connect with everyone he meets, but also how ruthless he is. I mean, cutting off Gordon's head with barbed wire??? So cool! Sam is brilliant and funny, and filled with so much trauma that it almost boggles the mind. I love his self-worth issues, and his trust issues, and his daddy issues, and basically ever damn issue he has. I love his utterly fucked up childhood and his guilt over things that have nothing to do with him. And I love, as I mentioned before, his fucky plotlines!!
I feel like my freeforms and relationships are pretty solid as prompts, but lmk if you have any questions! My Sam/Dean request is definitely a more positive one than my Sam/Villains request 😆 Though I'm still me and so neither request is without a touch of angst XD Be free, live your best life! Put virgin!Sam through the ringer or give him the good first time he deserves after so much pain.
