I fell hard and fast for this series and it doesn't seem like I'm coming up from my hole anytime soon. And nothing about that series got me more excited than all the shit Riko Moriyama got up to, especially when that resulted in pain for everyone around him, namely Neil XD Riko was sadistic and psychopathic and possessive and manic and he wanted to tear Neil down to shreds and build him back up as a loyal servant. Him, the Ravens, Tetsuji—Neil spent weeks under their "care" and weeks more experiencing flashbacks to it. So let's see some more of that winter break at the Raven's Nest, and how horribly it must've gone. Or maybe Neil doesn't get away at the end, and everything's worse. Or maybe another AU all together! I just thought we did not get nearly enough of Neil getting actively traumatized by the Moriyama family and think we should fix that

They introduced an abusive, psychopathic father with cold detachment and a sadistic urge to hurt his son for "betraying" him and then took him away all too soon! Like, did I want Neil to be permanently crippled in the book? No. Did I still think Nathan should've had more time to fuck Neil up? Of course! Neil's one fear in the world was his dad, he was utterly terrified in that reunion, turning the brazen boy we knew into something else entirely. How else might that have all gone, if Stewart didn't turn up? Or if things had simply gotten a little further before Stewart walked in to find Nathan doing some horrible things to his son? What if Neil couldn't hide any of what happened after a potential rescue—can you imagine Andrew's reaction? Absolutely anything would be good, I just want the Butcher to get to let loose a little before his end XD

So I absolutely binged my way through M9, and there is absolutely nothing more appealing to me than a traumatized powerful person and the older man who trained and abused him. Like, come ON, Caleb&/Trent was fucking made for me and there is not nearly enough of it in he world, nor enough of Ludinus Da'leth being a too-powerful too-dispassionate villain abusing our boyo. In general I seriously love Caleb (his obsession with learning, his gigantic amounts of trauma, his deep love for his friends, the level of ND vibes he gives off), and you pair that with the arrogant, self-righteous, sadistic person that is Trent Ikithon and you've got the best fucking mashup for me. Or!! Pairing Caleb up with the man in charge of it all, the man who knew what Trent was doing and didn't care, who went on to be an even bigger bad for C3, a man Caleb hunted for years, and there's so much fucking potential for Bad Times. Caleb got turned into a monster for the use of these men and I think he can have a little more pain, as a treat.

Me, wanting to dig more into Orym's extensive trauma? It's more likely than you think! Look, these two people are responsible for so much pain in the world and to Orym specifically, and I am here for that whump I am HERE for that angst. Otohan killed Orym's husband and father and friends and then killed him too and Ludinus made it all happen for his supposed Grand Plan, all to get Vax'ildan to show up (which, coolest shit in the universe, but I digress). Ludinus thinks himself so superior and so in the right, and it fed my goddamn soul to hear Orym get to curse the guy out and point out all his bullshit. I loved how Otohan was like the flip side of a coin from Orym, and the way that dynamic could've played out with more interactions is infinitely interesting to me. And because I'm me I want to take all this angst and pain and turn it up to the nth degree by adding some rapey goodness to the party lol. I just think Orym doesn't get enough truly bad times in fic and would love to see you explore that if you're down!

What if in order to steal the Master Bolt, Luke found another way to get all up close and personal with Zeus, or a different way to stop Ares from murdering him upon being caught? What if Luke lived after the war, and any of the tags looked at him and thought "hey, free real estate". Like I said—so many options and I'd love them all!
