IMPOSTERS

Ezra Bloom and Maddie Jonson

I love how Ezra was the first to fully accept that Maddie isn't the same as the person he/they married ("I saw something...but I don't think it was Ava") while Richard and Jules were still falling for it (for good reason, but still!). I love how confident he gets, how sure of himself, and how it creates such a deeper understanding between him and Maddie. The new bond that forms between them as Ezra comes into himself is such a great one—Maddie always held real affection for Ezra, but it became something new when Ezra transformed (and I loved how off-balance she seemed, too, like she could never quite reconcile this new Ezra with the one she knew, but she liked it, you know?). And that bit in season 2 where she's teaching him how to con a woman to love him, and how she understood his pain and knew how to help, and then them falling into bed together...god, I just loved it. If we'd ever gotten a season 3 like we deserved, I would've wanted sooooo much more of Ezra and Maddie interacting with their new dynamic.

PERCY JACKSON

Kronos Army Demigods and Luke Castellan
Luke Castellan and Ethan Nakamura

I will never stop being in love with all the demigods who joined up with Kronos' side, and wishing we got so much more about them. It's implied that there's a lot more than just the ones we met, and even for the ones we met I wanted all their stories! How did they get recruited? How many of them went to Camp Half-Blood VS never did? What were their relationships like with each other, and especially with Luke? Luke fully believed he was getting justice for demigods, and wanted Annabeth to join him so desperately—so how was he around the demigods who did join him? From high-up ones like Ethan to the unnamed foot soldiers, any of it would be awesome to see. I mean, they never even really touch on the fact that Chris Rodriguez is Luke's brother, and joined him!! Can you imagine the deep bonds that formed between all the demigods on this side of the battle? What did they go through, together or for each other? What would happen if they wanted to defect? I am just feral for all these people and I want more of them so badly, and the bonds formed between them.

Silena Beauregard and Luke Castellan

There is so much we don't know about Silena and her relationship with Luke, so much that was implied and left vague and described in half-statements, and I am endlessly interested in these two. What kind of relationship did Silena and Luke have that she was willing to spy on Camp Half-Blood for him even while not believing in the mission of Kronos? How much was manipulation on Luke's part versus genuine emotion—because honestly, how could you not love Silena at least a little, the girl was wonderful. Or was Silena more of a follower of Kronos than she let on, and was happy to spy? Or what if it was really just because she cared so deeply for Luke and would've done anything for him? What was it like for her to spend years passing him info from opposite sides of the war? How did their meetings over that time period go? When did Silena's opinion of Luke's mission start to change? Did Luke ever have regrets of using her like that? How much interaction did Silena have with the other demigods to join Kronos, if any? Did she ever speak to Kronos directly, and if so, how did that go, and what did Luke think of it? Did she ever engage with Kronos!Luke? As you can see I have about a million billion questions about these two so really anything would spark joy.

Luke Castellan and Clarisse La Rue

I'm really interested in the dynamics of the older campers at Camp Half-Blood, especially with the mess that is Luke Castellan. Like, we got glimpses of Luke & Clarisse in the first book, but what was their dynamic like outside of the antagonism that surrounded Percy? Luke and Clarisse were both leaders, both strong forces at CHB, both demigods with a lot of anger and drive and ambition. I just think it would be cool if their bond was deeper, if there was depth there we simply didn't get because of Percy's POV and Clarisse's disinclination to share her feelings. There's just a lot of potential, in my opinion. Plus imagine having a deep bond with a fellow jaded leader at camp and then learning he betrayed everybody and ran off to lead the fucking army on the other side of the war. Or throw in all her romantic feelings towards Chris (aka Luke's brother) and it gets even more complicated in a great way!

Luke Castellan and Hylla Ramírez-Arellano

This is a relationship I pulled completely out of my ass and now I've fallen head over heels for it. I was doing research for a fic and saw what Hylla's age was when we meet her in Son of Neptune, and did the math to see that she was about a year younger than Luke, and then my brain started showing how much potential crossover there could've been between their arcs, and how much fun it would be to see it play out. Hylla and Luke are both people who have manipulated others to get what they need, with the intense belief that they were doing the right thing, and both garnered themselves intense reputations. It's also never explained how Hylla already knows about both Greek and Roman demigods. There's just so much to work with! What if they met during Sea of Monsters, both out on the ocean? What if Luke had to treat with the Amazons sometime later, when Hylla had joined up with them? What if it's just a chance encounter? What if they met while on the streets (though for that the timeline needs to be shifted a little lol, not that I'd mind XD). I think there's so much potential here for a really unique relationship!

CRITICAL ROLE

Nott | Veth Brenatto and Caleb Widogast

In my head, these two are the definition of an amperslash relationship. They were the first I thought of when this exchange rolled around, and I'm sure that's obvious for anyone who watched the campaign—Nott/Veth and Caleb simultaneously had the bond of mother and child, partners in crime, true loves, all rolled into one and yet none of the above at the same time. These two fit a category that I could never see fitting into purely platonic or romantic or familial, they're more whole than that and more all-encompassing. They would do absolutely anything for each other. They fit together so perfectly, and as this odd ill-defined in-between relationship that I frankly adore. Like we got both "He's my boy" and "you're the second love of my life" so honestly Sam Reigel himself gave his whole-hearted approval over this relationship being the most amperslash relationship to ever exist.

Beauregard Lionett and Caleb Widogast

Empire kids!! Liam and Marisha built such a fantastic relationship over the course of the campaign, to the point where one of my absolute favorite things from C3 was the knowledge that even years later the two of them are still a team. Like, they just Click, you know? And oh boy was it a long trek to get there, with quite a lot of arguments as two stubborn people with different communication styles clashed again and again, but they built a rapport and a depth of understanding that was nearly unmatched outside of them. They both had a drive inside to weed out corruption and fix what was broken in their home nation, and they made each other stronger the longer they went on. I love the partnership they've built, the way their lives are so intertwined even years after the end of the campaign. I just love the empire siblings, man.

Fjord and Caleb Widogast

Man were these two fucking fascinating to watch. From that excellent early scene of Fjord holding the falchion to Caleb's throat to their teamwork all the way at the end of the campaign, these two were always fucking fascinating. Two men with so much potential for leadership but so much baggage being carried around that had them butting heads like immovable force and unstoppable object. Caleb was used to being harmed by those in his life and Fjord thought he had to be threatening to make his way in the world, and somewhere along the way they managed a path to partnership and friendship and something so deep and enduring, becoming the men they were always meant to be but might never have become without each other there to push and prod to make them better. Plus with scenes like the blood promise at the bottom of the ocean how could you NOT want to explore these motherfuckers?

Fearne Calloway and Orym and Dorian Storm

For C3 my boy is 100% Orym, and I absolutely fell in love with the EXU Trio. These three are so wonderful together!! Whether that's platonic or not or somewhere in between or some amalgamation therein (since Fearne's so fucking obvious about shipping Dorym 😂) I am all here for it. These three never relax as well as they do if they're all in sight, or sharing a bed, or simply know that they're at each others' backs. They make each other calmer and stronger, make each other their braver selves even if they don't feel brave. They would do absolutely anything for each other—hell, Fearne and Dorian would certainly cross quite a few moral lines if it meant keeping those they love safe, and Orym would die before seeing them in danger. They are all so tightly tied up in each other and I love it to fucking bits.

Look watching Critical Role is just watching people consistently pull their hearts out of their chests and offer them up for their friends and I can never get enough of it. Was never a huge RPF person until I started watching CR, because man do I just love the LOVE shared amongst this group. The things they do for each other, the way they play relationships and flirt and create things solely for making the others happy, it's just such a beautiful depiction of what feels like amperslash relationships. And none exhibit that more than Liam O'Brien, the man who spent an hour describing a tower he designed for his friends and wrote a whole book for Laura and just so many MANY things, and that's not even getting started on the Everything between him and Sam lmao. Anyway, I just love tihs crew and Liam O'Brien and would love to see some of them.
